WebFacing works on taking the DDS source of a legacy program and converting into a web enabled interface by the use of JSP and XML.
HATS works by recognizing the screen that is generated by the legacy application. It does not require DDS of a legacy application to work.
IBM is coming up with new strategy name IBM WebFacing Deployment with HATS technology that combines both WebFacing and HATS technology.
